In the book there is a obvious battle for power between the greasers and the socials. During this a guy named Ponyboy he is trying to figure himself out in this world and is also trying to figure out where he belongs. He uses the power of his group the greasers to protect him but it just doesn't seem like Pony to stay in the group because it seems he is unsettled there knowing he must watch his back at all times. Although the greasers are there for him it always looks like Pony is by himself in this community and really needs someone too talk to before he really gets hurt. This story may highlight the conflict Ponyboy has with him self and problems with the socials. That's my view on this teen story and hopefully he is able to get himself out of the high school struggles.
