First impressions-Nerhu

My first impression of Ponyboy Curtis was that he was a normal teenager. Later I found out that he was a gangster and I thought that he did not sound like one. Ponyboy appeared uneducated because he spoke using slang. He wrote using some slang which showed his street language but he also used words that were sophisticated and appeared very intellectual. I then thought that he was hiding his intelligence behind the mask of a hardened hoodlum. Ponyboy also seemed very aloof and detached. He said he liked to be alone. He also looked biased because he said he liked his middle brother Sodapop more than his oldest brother Darry. He also is paranoid because he was always on guard, expecting an attack from their rivals, the Socs which stands for socials. From what Ponyboy said the Socs appear very harsh and cruel. Pony’s point of view states that the Socs have no problems while the Greasers, Pony’s gang have a lot of problems. Pony lives with his brother because his parents are dead.
